Chinese Manufacturing and QualityThe Chinese economy is continuing to grow at an incredibly fast pace, despite government measures undertaken to try and cool the economy. According to recent figures from the Chinese government, its economy has grown 11.9% in the last year (BBC, 19th July 2007). This growth is partly resulting from strong international sales. However, there have been some recent quality problems for the Chinese manufacturing industry. There have been a number of safety scares relating to products exported from There have been some concerns by government officials that the problems have been exaggerated by the international press. 'We hope that the relevant sides will handle Chinese products in an objective, fair and rational manner. This should not impact on the normal development of trade'.
