The Times 100 - Edition 12 - Frequently Asked Questions

   Frequently Asked Questions
What is The Times 100?
The Times 100 is a resource, in print and online, for students taking Business Studies courses. Published annually, it provides the means for students to examine real business issues from a number of major organisations and allows them to put Business Studies theory into a real life context. It gives you, as current and future customers and potential employees, an insight into business.
What sort of material does it contain?
The Times 100 case studies are the core of the resource, providing real-life examples of curriculum topics. Each study focuses how a major organisation dealt with a business issue to demonstrate business studies topics. Linked to the case studies are other tools and features for both teachers, such as lesson plans, and for students, such as revision quizzes.
Why is it so useful to me?
The Times 100 is useful because:
  1. it is produced by and with teachers to ensure it is focused on the Business Studies curriculum
  2. the companies who take part understand the value to students of real examples of business practice
  3. the material is presented in different formats designed to enable all students to make best use of the material - from the printed page, to pdf downloads, to the new MP3 podcasts.
How much does it cost?
A printed copy of The Times 100 is provided free of charge to all UK schools, colleges and universities, so there will be a copy in your Business Studies department. You can also freely download the case studies or other information from the website.
What's available for students?
For students, there is a wealth of helpful extra information. This includes revision quizzes, topical news alerts based on companies making business headlines, background information on the companies who are participating, and a glossary of business terms.
What's available for teachers?
For teachers, we provide lesson plans and worksheets throughout the year. These are devised by our educational advisers and are there to help you save time. There are also exam support packs. This is all freely available to download from the website.
